Why I Believe Reiki Should Stay a Spiritual Practice- Not a Licensed One

You may have heard there's a push in some states to require Reiki practitioners to become licensed. I wanted to take a moment to share why I think this approach doesn't fit Reiki and what we can do instead. Reiki isn't something we "do" to someone. Reiki is a spiritual practice that works with the body's natural ability to balance. Over the years, i've seen firsthand how somethig so simple can bring steadiness in the most tender moments. I've offered Reiki in homes, hospitals, clinics, and support groups. I've sat with people in painm in grief, in transition and observed how Reiki helped. That's one reason why I support the work Reiki Unified is doing on a national level to preserve the integrity of Reiki. They're working to make sure Reiki can remain a spiritual practice and not be treated like a modality that needs state oversight.
